The top ADF commander Benjamin Kisokorania, who heads the Jailed Jamil Mukulu faction was been captured by Congolese Army at Uvira boarder point south of Kivu as he returned from neighboring Country Burundi.
Kisokeranio was arrested on Tuesday 11th,January 2022 and is currently in the DR Congo army’s custody and will be repatriated to Uganda.
He is the second Top commander to be arrested since Jamil Mukul’s arrest of 2015 in Tanzania.
The arrest of Benjamin comes against the backdrop of a recent launch of phase 2 of #OperationShujaa, almost 2 months since UPDF & FARDC launched a joint operation against ADF.
The seizure of Kisokeranio is a major victory for the Uganda and Congo – Kinshasa militaries which launched a war on ADF terrorist group on November 30, 2021.
