Ministry of Education and Sports Uganda has issued a roadmap confirming 10th January 2022 as the official opening of the 2022 Academic Year for Primary, Secondary and Technical institutions.
The Minister of Education Janet Kataha Museveni at Kololo on Releasing the calendar said that the first term shall operate for fourteen weeks from Monday, 10th of January 2022 until Friday, 15th of April 2022 followed by a holiday of three weeks.
The 12-month calendar was released by the Ministry of Education and Sports for the resumption of studies for all schools in Uganda. Schools resume January 10, 2022, and run a full year, to December 9, when the third term closes.
The minister said that the second term shall open for fourteen weeks from Monday, 09th May 2022 until Friday, 19th of August 2022 followed by a holiday of three weeks.
The Minister further added that the third term shall start on 05th September 2022 Monday to Friday, 09th December 2022 followed by a holiday of seven weeks till Monday, 29th January 2023.
According to Ms. Janet Kataha Museveni, the Uganda National Examination Board shall release its calendar for the end-of-cycle examinations to be conducted in 2022 and when candidates shall be registered now that the school re-opening calendar has been defined.
